One, two, three, four...

I know you always hear it, "they grow so fast", but the past four years have gone by too fast. I can't believe Hunter is already four years old. She's turning into her own little person, developing interests in music, dancing, learning to write and read, having her own opinion on everything and spending too much time saying "No, Leo!". She's still learning the whole sharing thing with her little brother, that might take a while.

Her birthday, August 6th, fell on a Monday, and it didn't work out to put together a party on her birthday. We (well, only me, I do love my birthday) had built up the day so much I wanted her to do something special on the day. So I kept her out of preschool and took half the day off work. She had really wanted to go to Fort Stevens in Astoria, but that's almost a three hour drive to get there and we couldn't fit that in. She choose a place that Grandpa had been telling her about for awhile, Enchanted Forest, outside of Salem, Oregon. It's a theme park with rides. I'd never been there before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's actually pretty cool and slightly creepy. It's nestled into this forested area and there are different parts to the park like towns and all kinds of houses, places, castles, statues representing a bunch of fairy tales. Like here is a near life size Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.

We had a blast! She got to wear a birthday button with her name on it, so all the workers at the games and rides were saying "Happy Birthday, Hunter!", it really added a nice little personal touch to make her day even better.

We went on quite a few rides, she was tall enough for all of them except one log water ride. She was really excited to go up to all these signs and pass over the line.

She loved the bobsled roller coaster ride. I got some funny shots on the first ride with my iphone and enjoyed the second trip, because it wasn't easy taking pictures going that fast in that small space.

Best ride at the park!

Then there was all the weird fairy tale stuff, I didn't get enough pictures of those, but here is Humpty Dumpty and a cool castle.

There was even a large boot that had a slide out of it.

And a scary giant witch head that you could walk into and a slide came out the side of her face.

It was a really great day. And of course we had to end it off at Red Robin, free birthday treat! Grandpa, Brandon and Leo met us for that treat. Leo got really scared by the loud Red Robin singers, but Hunter was loving the attention.

Then on the following Saturday, August 11th, we had a small birthday party for her with Grandpa, Aunt Erin and Uncle Payton.

She got some cute presents, but the best from them, her first bike!

We had our first bike ride the next day, she was a pro.

Looking forward to another fun filled year with her!
