The beautiful NW, above Oregon

I drove up to Bremerton, WA this weekend to visit Kevin and company. Unfortunately Brandon got sick Friday night and didn't get to join us. He spent the weekend in bed. :(

The drive up Saturday afternoon was raining and gross, but the drive back was super pretty, I snapped this pic.


Hunter and I had a lot of fun! The first night we ate at Fritz Fries, super yummy. The kids had a great time running around the fountains afterwards. That's James and Savannah, Kevin's awesome girlfriend Jenny's kids, and Bailey, Kevin's son.

On Saturday we took the ferry over to Seattle and drove over to Renton for some fun at the Ikea store. Hunter's first ferry trip, TOO FUN!

Chickens are messy

While the girls were at the park playing, I decided to power wash our back patio. It has taken a beating this last year and was looking pretty sad. Not only had the chickens continually pooped on it , but during the small snow storm we had Cora decided the yard was to far and also decided to poop on the back patio.

Also notice the chicken feed by the pink wagon, yeah that stuff turns into a weak form of cement when it gets wet and then dries on a surface. After two hours of work I'm definitely happy with the end result. I'm also hoping the patio will stay in this fresh poop free state.

I'm considering a buried electric fence around the patio and then putting the collars on the chickens. I figure a small electric jolt would keep them off and if it proves to be a little to strong a little fried chicken for dinner

Saturday in the park

It was an awesome sunshiny day today. I took the opportunity to take a walk with Hunter up to the local park play thingy. It was too fun!





I'm fairly sure in this last picture she is telling me to stop taking so many pictures of her in front of the other kids. ;)

Shine bright!

For Xmas I got back into an old hobby of stained glass. I wanted to make something special for Teri and since she's been talking about a silo I figured I'd make her one to look at out her window every day. :) It turned out pretty cool and it's got me back into a really fun hobby!

Girlfriend party!

Hunter had two friends over on Saturday, Lina and Alexa. Alexa is actually her second cousin. Alexa and Hunter had lots of giggles in Hunter's tree tent but Alexa didn't want to join all three girls for pics. Hunter and Lina sat still long enough for a few cute pics...



And then they were off!


Alexa finally came over for a picture, but Lina was gone and Hunter on her way out. Alexa still gave the camera a beautiful smile!


Lina was in love with Chopper.


And I was in love with her sweater, so stylin!

This and that

This week we met Bryan and Amber's new baby boy Everett Leo. He's got so much hair and he's adorable! Hunter was really sweet with him, we'll have to get pictures of them together when he's a little less fragile.


Hunter LOVES her kitty Cecilita. It's amazing how much that cat will put up with from Hunter. She gets carried around like this all the time and comes back for more!



We were playing around with a jelly fish lamp thingy we got in Mexico for Hunter. It gave off this cool orb looking light in the pics, too fun!

Clarice and Henna are FINALLY laying eggs again. They are coming out like crazy. Today there was a teeny little egg waiting for me, it's too cute. We'll have to cook that one up for Hunter.


I've been missing Clyde a lot this week. I got a little artsy bug and attempted doing some charcoals of him. I miss him too much.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Top reasons today was the best Sunday of the new year...

• Slept in until 8:30am
• Had an amazing Ruby breakfast with the Gram's and Gramp's with awesome fresh eggs from the hens (they are laying again!)
• Hearing that my Father-in-Law may start brewing beer on the big scale
• Weeded the front yard for a few hours
• Got a call from my closest friend, Kelly, that she is engaged!! (destination wedding!)
• Dinner at the table with the family (no more couch eating)
• Gave Hunter, Cooper and Cora baths (not at the same time)
• Never ending work on organizing photo's
• Lunches are made for the week
• Did NOT clean the house and it's not bothering me

Watching the Blazers game now and even though I will probably log onto work for a bit after Hunter is in bed, it was such a great day, and weekend really. Saturday was great with volunteering at the Newberg Shelter, having a chill afternoon with the family and then going out to see a documentary movie premiere that Erin and Payton are in. We got to hang with all the Uncle's and company before and after the movie for a bit. Good times!
