Alpacas and our future hens!

After many months of research and discussion we found our future chicken coop for when we get our chickens (more on that coming soon!). I found a local contractor who makes coops and he also has an alpaca farm!

Alpacas are TOO cute, especially a couple week old babies that you can see in the middle of the picture below.

Here is our new coop! We have to build the enclosed run to go around it to protect the chickens when we aren't outside with them, we'll be doing that in the next few weeks. We also still have to get our livestock permit to have the chickens in the city.
The back side opens for easy cleaning and there is also a little door to collect the eggs on the side of the nest boxes.

Clyde can't wait til the chickens come! :)

Coolest bath towel ever!

Thanks Angie and Matt, she says she wouldn't want to dry off after a bath with any other towel! :)

But seriously, this bath towel is really freakin cute and cool, we love it!

She's on the move!

It's official, Hunter can now pull herself up to standing. She's been crawling for awhile now, but has perfected it in the last week. You can't walk out of the room for 2 seconds or she's got herself into something. She's still wobbly so when she pulls herself up we have to make sure we're near by.

This morning I had a brilliant idea and now understand why people have those cages and gate things they put their kids in. I setup the portable crib and put her in that and voila! she's stuck! :)

She actually really doesn't seem to mind it and when she falls over it doesn't hurt.

And when she got sleepy she just went for her binky and took a little rest.

Some other random pics...

I've got a awesome setup for making Hunter's food. Thanks to Erin for providing us with a rad food processor awhile ago (that I just remembered we had in the garage). And Thanks to Gramma T and Gramps for the food mill to strain the food through. Having the right equipment sure makes it alot easier and faster. So far Hunter has had lots of carrots, sweet potatos, broccoli, cauliflower, rutabaga, parsnip, pears, apples, bananas, avacado, and I think that's it. Next week is beets, bring on the red poop!

Last Saturday Brandon and I went on a date to the surrounding area to have a picnic. It was cold so we just found a place to park and eat in the car. This picture doesn't do it justice, but the view is beautiful. We stopped at a couple wineries for a few tastes too. That was fun!

And then of course, here is another super adorable picture of Hunter.

Both Hunter and I have been sick this week, but we're never too sick for giggles!

Swimming in the tub

Hunter eyeballs the bathtub for swim time.

Then she gets her cute little swimming suit on (Thanks Gramma T for the cute suit!)

Then swimming!!

Of course she's had bath time in her little tub thingy, but this was the first time swimming in the open water of the tub. She LOVED it! She was a natural, kicking and splashing and wanting to go go go. We're planning on taking her down to the local swimming pool soon. We'll see how that goes.
