More Work

Last Saturday didn't end up going exactly as I had planned, but does anything ever really go as planned? Shortly after finishing up my post on Saturday I received a call from my dad, who just happened to be on a well deserved vacation. He was on a Hawaiin cruise, that he won through work. He is a contractor with the Oregonian and contracts to deliver and manage the papers going out to the Newberg area. He hires out people to deliver the papers for him around the Newberg area. Well while he was gone one of his carriers had a mental break down and just didn't show up. Which is where the call fits in. He asked if I would deliver the Sunday papers with him walking me through the area. Thankfully I had delivered papers for him before, during High School summers and also once I was out of High School. I agree and end up heading down to load up around 12:30am on Sunday morning. After a long cell phone conversation with my dad I was finally in bed and done with the route by 7:20am. It was nice being able to help my dad outta a bind, but man was I tired.

Last Saturday we also ended up meeting with Elise our realtor and had her compile a list of what she thought we should get done on Crystal's old place:

Long list much? I think our weekends are covered for the next little bit :)

We did get our first piece of mail with both of our names on it though

During this time Crystal had gotten a cold and was feeling worse and worse. We both ended up staying home from wok on Monday and Tuesday to recover. She's finally starting to feel better but she still gets stuffy every once in a while and has coughing fits.

And in the midst of all of this we got our first flowers in our front yard!

Finally Landed, kinda

Okay, so Crystal and I know we've been slacking on keeping this updated. But since getting the keys to the house we've basically been going non stop. First it was re-doing the hard wood floors, which thanks to Teri and my Dad look amazing. Then on to the trim, painting the trim, and painting a room. Did I forget to mention that during this whole thing we were attempting to pack as well. With help from Chooper of course

And never fear during the past three weeks we did come up for breaths of air and have a little fun. Even though sometimes it was redneck fun (love ya Crystal) it was still fun.

Bulldozer was totally my favorite and I so wanted to pretend he was a Tricertops instead of a damn Bull. I mean come on what are these people thinking? A Bull or Tricertops, which is more fun.

I must say though I was surprised the last event that they did, the freestyle was totally worth the whole event and was really exciting. We both had a great time and it was a well deserved break for the both of us.

Okay the shower is calling my name, so this is gonna have to be a two parter, I'll finish this up later today. Enjoy for now.

Our new home!

We got the keys to our new place in Newberg on Friday and spent the last three days working hard on refinishing the floors with the help of Brandon's dad and Teri (and Teri's parents!). They are all amazing! It's hard work sanding, sanding and more sanding.

For those who don't know where Newberg is, it's about 25 miles outside of Portland, it's a super cute little town. Here's the town Welcome sign:

Newberg is basically known as wine country because of all the vineyards, it's great weather for the wine growing. Here is the history of the town, if you wanted to read about it: http://ci.newberg.or.us/page.asp?id=2

Here are a few pictures of our new house. The front and backyard and then a bit of the work in progress in the living room on the floors. More pictures to come, for sure.
