My dental hygienist a few weeks ago was telling me about a Babymoon vacation she heard about on the today show or some talk show. It’s like a honeymoon, but it’s for couples before they have a baby. Many spas and resorts are now offering these types of packages where you get a massage and some fancy stuff included. I thought this was a great idea! I looked around and found a few close to the NW area, but didn’t find anything that totally jumped out. So I started thinking we should just take a little vacation away regardless to get some relaxing time in. We had gone to the San Juan Islands up in Washington near Canada in October and it was absolutely beautiful up there.
We stayed on San Juan Island, but I started looking more at the other islands and have fallen in love with Orcas Island. I found a really cool vacation home that’s perfect for a romantic getaway. We are going to be going up there March 21st to the 24th after we get settled into the house and before I resemble a whale. It’s about a four hour drive up to Anacortes where you take the hour ferry ride over to Orcase Island. Here is the house we are staying in, it’s a gnome house! http://www.orcasrec.com/gnome.html
Here is a picture of us from October 2007 on the ferry. :)

Word of warning about the below link. I haven't watched the series myself but as Crystal the worrier has told me there are some graphic shots of the baby being born. She suggested we watch it on our next romantic evening together. I'm not so sure, this might be something I check out on my own so she doesn't see my reaction : )

Crystal here:
I am taking a online Psychology class this term for college and it happens to be on Human Development. We’re in the first few chapters of life and it’s talking a lot about Prenatal care and birth. I had to share this really cool program on PBS that we had to watch for class. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/miracle/program.html
The video is absolutely amazing as far as what is going on with the baby in your stomach. Sometimes I forget that’s what’s actually going on inside of me. I think maybe once I’m showing and we start to get settled into our new home it’ll feel more real and real everyday. Can’t wait!
Love, Crystal

Our first post
Ah, the joy of technology. We thought we'd start this blog for all family and friends from afar who won't be involved daily in the fun of our new life together and the road to parenthood. Eek!
We will be sharing our experiences as we move to Newberg together and begin preparing for our baby. I'm sure they will be funny, happy, nerve wracking, and sometimes frustrating. Through all these times and these range of emotions please read along and share your thoughts and feelings with us. We'd love to hear from you.
As of today Crystal is 13 weeks along. We get the keys to our new house in Newberg in less than 2 weeks. And of course, neither of us is very far along in the packing process. Let the fun begin!
